The Old Metal Box Factory, Mansfield

Description

The Old Metal Box Factory as it was known to most locals, finished its life as Crown Speciality Packaging in August 2010 before it was demolished, leaving only the clock tower standing as a memorial. To the much older generation, it was known as Barringers during WW1 and WW2, where the factory was famous for producing world-renowned decorative tins including the Princess Mary Christmas Tin that was passed onto all British and Commonwealth troops in the Great War.
