Amphitheatre Man, Mansfield

Known by many locals as 'the leaning man", this piece of street sculpture by David Annand (created in 2007) is situated at the foot of Church Street. The sculpture's title is "The Amphitheatre" and it depicts someone holding up and broken amphitheatre, i.e. 'reflecting the struggle to maintain the infrastructure of civilised society'. Some words on the base by Kevin Fegan, a local playwright and poet, read: "Search for a clearer view ...." (2006)
